2017年は酉「とり」年ですね！

1月のおすすめの本は「ピーター・シス」が翻訳しました鳥の言葉です。
鳥の言葉は800年前のペルシア韻文です！！この翻訳には美しい絵もあるので楽しめる本です。

2017 is the Year of the Rooster!

In honor of this, January’s book is an illustrated adaptation of The Conference of the Birds, by Peter Sis. The original Persian poem, written by Attar of Nishapur, is from the 12th century!!

地球の鳥は一緒に鳥の王、シームルグ「ペルシアの不死鳥」、を探す。

The epic poem is about a gathering of all the birds in the world, and their journey to find the legendary Simurgh (similar to a phoenix), to make their king.

大橋川にも鳥がたくさん来ています！

11月のおすすめ本はファッション雑誌 STREET「ストリート」の11 月号です。

ニューヨークのファッションウイーク「春2017」は9月7日〜14日ですが雑誌にはこのイベントでのストリートファッションのスナップ写真です。

November’s book is the fashion magazine STREET‘s November issue.

STREET magazine features photos of street fashion from all over the world.  This issue focuses on the street style captured in snapshots from New York Fashion Week, Spring 2017, which took place from September 7th to the 14th.

９月のおすすめ本は「グリーンネイバーフッド」です。

この本には米国オレゴン州のポートランドの有名な町「パールディストリクト」を紹介しています！昔のパールディストリクトは廃屋の多い地区でしたが、今はその廃屋をリフォームしたオシャレなアートギャラリーやブティックがあります。そして！世界で一番大きな本屋さんもあるんです！自然豊かで公園がたくさんあり、とてもエコな町で自転車を使う人が多いです。この本には、カラー写真がたくさん載っていているので、この町の雰囲気がとても伝わってきます！

September’s book is GREEN Neighborhood: Portland.  Inside the book are descriptions and colored photos of The Pearl District, a popular neighborhood, in Portland, Oregon.  The Pearl District, which was once a collection of abandoned warehouses, was converted into a thriving urban center with art galleries, parks, convenient public transportation, and local businesses, including the worlds largest new and used book store, Powell’s City of Books.

８月のおすすめの本はdancyu「パスタの本」です。この本にはいろいろなパスタのレシピがあります。例えば、クラシックイタリアスタイルからジャパニーズスタイルもあります！

August’s book is actually a mook (the Japanese portmanteau of “magazine” and “book”) released by the food magazine, dancyu.   The title,「パスタの本」literally translates to ‘A book of Pasta’, and as you can probably guess, contains various pasta recipes!
