BOOK of the MONTH

８月のおすすめ本は「世界遺産珠玉の８０選」です。

カラー写真がメインですばらしい写真がいっぱいあります。もちろん日本のおすすめもあります！

私の一番見てみたい場所はエジプトのアブ・シンベル神殿♡　一番見たい場所を見つけてください！

August’s book features beautiful photos and includes information about 80 of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  My dream is to visit Egypt and see Abu Simbel and Philae.  I would like to hear about places you want to see or places you have visited .♪

BOOK of the MONTH

６月の本は「ダースヴイダーとルーク(4才)」です。

ダースヴェイダーはルークのパパでパパとしてのアドバイスなどおもしろいですよ！最近、話題になってる本でもありますのでおすすめです。父の日も近いので素晴らしいタイミングですね😉

Darth Vader and Son is the perfect book for June since Father’s Day falls on the 16th.  As a Star Wars fan, this book caught my eye right away.  The author, Jeffrey Brown, has cleverly incorporated characters, locations and quotations from the Star Wars universe into a delightful book about the joys and trials of fatherhood as experienced by one of the world’s most iconic villains.  The fantastic illustrations capture the juxtaposition perfectly, as when Darth Vader like so many fathers, receives a tie for Father’s Day (where and how will he where it??).

BOOK of the MONTH

このコーナーではジェニファーのおすすめの本を紹介します。

５月の本は2006年の オレンジページVol.5です。

この本は最初おもしろいから見てとお客様に教えてもらい読んで私は凄くこの本が好きになってオーダしました！本の中は美味しそうでヘルシーなレシピがいっぱいあります。例えばオーガニック寒天デザート。「ソイカプチーノゼリー」または「ベリーと豆乳のデザート」私はこの二つを近いうち作りたいと思っています。♡

これから夏に向けてマクロビオティックそうめんレシピもおすすめです。

May’s book is actually a ‘mook‘ (the Japanese portmanteau of “magazine” and “book”) titled  Orange Page.  This issue dates from all the way back in 2006 and was lent to me by a customer.  I enjoyed it so much, I ordered one for myself!  The features include vegetarian and organic dishes, and even recipes for vegan sweets using kanten (agar) as a gelatin substitute.  Since I don’t eat eggs, I want to try the recipes, especially the berry soy milk dessert❤︎.  Also featured are main dishes with nasu (the Japanese eggplant), and sōmen recipes, which I’m looking forward to try now that the weather is finally warmer!!

Happy May Day!

Jenniferですこんにちは、

今日は５月１日＝メーデー！！ メーデー私の一番好きな日です 🙂

古くはヨーロッパで始まったお祭りです。メイポールで踊って最近では春の始まりを祝うお祭りみたいです。楽しみですね！！

私の好き映画 Camelot はステキなメーデーシーンがありますから是非見て下さい！

MayDay

May Day originated in ancient Europe to celebrate the warmer spring weather.  Maypole dancing, the crowning of a May Queen, bonfires and feasting were traditional parts of the celebrations.  May Day is my favorite day of the year because it represents things I really love like sunny days, flowers, dancing and romance, and makes me feel like singing, frolicking and handing out flowers. 🙂

One of my favorite movies, Camelot, includes a fantastic May Day inspired scene to the song “The Lusty Month of May”.  You can see it here.  Enjoy!

BOOK of the MONTH 「今月の本」

このコーナーではジェニファーのおすすめの本を紹介します。

４月の本はFACE FORWARD「フェイス・フォワード」 by Kevyn Aucoin 「ケヴィン・オークイン」 です。オークインさんはアメリカで有名な「innovative」なメークアップアーティスト。VOGUEマガジンで何度も表紙を飾ったりハリウッドスターのメイクもされていた方です。いろいろなメイクスタイルやポイントがありますので見て下さい。

April’s book, by famous make-up artist Kevyn Aucoin, is inspirational with easy to follow instructions and fabulous photography.
