UPDATE

The English Garden is now primarily used as a wedding venue through services provided by Corridor Court or ラブレ(Lovere), and as a photography location for Studio Viescene. However, the upscale restaurant LAUT also accepts reservations for afternoon tea (11:30-16:00), lunch (11:30-15:30) and dinner (from 18:00). It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and reservations for dinner are accepted until 15:00 one day in advance.

松江イングリッシュガーデンへ遊びに行って来ました。バラのシーズンでいっぱい咲いていてとてもきれいです！

Recently, I went to the Matsue English Garden.  The roses were all in full bloom, so it was especially spectacular!  I felt like Alice in Wonderland as I wandered through the beautiful pathways and arches.♥

暑くなってきましたが日陰もあるので休憩しながら楽しめます。新しい友達と仲良くしてました（笑）

Although the weather has been getting hotter, there are many benches throughout the garden where you can relax in the cool shade.  I even made a new friend, like Alice did when she was in Wonderland!😂

まだまだ６月に咲くお花がありますので是非行って下さい！

There are still many flowers that are blooming this month so it’s a great time to visit!

今回はガーデニングトークパート８です。

今日は冬至日ですね！去年、冬のコンテナガーデンをブログで紹介しました 。  今年はおすすめの冬お花、シクラメンの写真です。とてもキレイですね♥

Today is the winter solstice (the shortest day of the year).  Last year on this day I shared photos of Hair Innovation’s winter container garden. This year I’d like to share some photos of the beautiful cyclamen we ordered for the holiday season!

ヘアーイノベーションのミニバラが咲き始めてます！！買った時は何色の花が咲くか分かりませんでしたが、咲いてみると夏の夕日のようなとてもステキなオレンジ色でした♡

The mini roses in front of Hair Innovation’s entrance have begun to bloom!  When I planted them, I didn’t know what color the flowers would be, but by good fortune, they are a beautiful shade of orange, like a summer sunset! ♥

Today is my favorite day of the year, May 1st!!

May is such a lovely month, full of beautiful weather, when Spring is at its fullest.  Although the cherry blossoms are gone, the trees in front of Hair Innovation are now full of new green leaves.

This year, my hosta from three years ago has returned again and continues to flourish.  There are also more succulents, and in the oval container is a mini rose plant with ivy.

May is also a great month to enjoy walking around your neighborhood, like in this scene from Mary Poppins.  Even this pigeon couple is going “a-Maying” !😉

今日は私の一番好きな日です！！メーデーは古くはヨーロッパで始まったお祭りです。

本当に５月は素晴らしいですね。天気が良いし春真っただ中って感じです。さくらの木は花が終わりましたが、新しく緑の葉がたくさんついて、これもまたキレイですね。

今年も３年前のホスタはまだ元気そう！多肉植物も増えました！キャラクターが腰掛けているコンテナにはミニばらとアイビーです。

５月は町で散歩しながら花を見るのも楽しいですね。皆さんメリーポピンズのようにお出かけしましょう！右写真で鳩の夫婦も出かけてます！😂

今日は春分の日ですね！英語で古いことわざがあります：「In like a lion, out like a lamb」。翻訳すると「3月はライオンの如く来たりて、子羊のごとく去る」意味は３月の天気は始めは風が強く寒い「これをライオンに例えてます」そして終わりになると暖かく優しい天気になる「これを羊の子に例えてます」。今年の松江の天気も始めに吹雪がありましたよね！このことわざそっくりではないでしょうか？これからもっと暖かくなってくると良いですね！

There is an expression in English that March comes “in like a lion, out like a lamb.”  This refers to the transition from Winter to Spring, with harsh, cold weather at the beginning of the month, and gentle, warm weather at the end.  The first part was definitely true for Matsue, as we had a snowstorm at the beginning of the month!  Today marks the spring equinox, and we’ve had some warmer, Spring weather, so it looks as though the rest of the saying may also prove true!
