松江のポートベローさんでハロウィンパーティーでした👻！！
Here are some photos from the Halloween event at Port Below!!

今年のテーマは、ギリシア神話の怪物です。
私のキャラは「メデューサ」と山崎さんのキャラは「ミノタウロス」（牛頭人身）です。
もちろん私の手作りかぼちゃ🎃のテーマも同じく：サイクロプスです😉

This year’s costumes were inspired by my interest in Greek mythology.  Since it’s fun to dress as scary things, Mr. K and I both went as mythological monsters. I was Medusa, from the legend of Perseus, and Mr. K was the Minotaur, from the legend of Theseus.

Of course, the pumpkin I carved also featured a mythological monster, Cyclops!

HALL🎃WEEN is coming!!

３年前から私のハロウィンをブログで紹介しました！　今年も、第四のハロウィン写真を紹介しま〜す。

私が６歳のときで初めてお店でコスチュームを買いました「ケアベア」です。私が初めて身に着けていたときコスチュームがバラバラになった。😱

とてもクオリティ低い服でそのあとパジャマに着替えてそのまま弟君と一緒に「トリック・オア・トリート」へ行きました。弟君かっこい消防士ですね😁

For the past three years, I’ve posted about my early Halloween experiences.  This year is no different, so without further ado, here is a picture of my fourth Halloween!!  I am six years old, and I begged my mother to let me have a store-bought costume of my favorite Care Bear, Cheer Bear.  I was so excited, I wanted to wear it all day!  Unfortunately, it was made of cheap plastic and ripped completely in half.😱  So when I went trick-or-treating with my brother, I had to wear my Cabbage Patch Kids pajamas instead.😉

今年も毎年恒例になった松江のポートベローさんでハロウィンパーティーがあります！！今年は１０月２９日（土）、夜９時からで〜す！！

As in previous years, Port Below is hosting a Halloween event.  This year, the event is on Saturday, the 29th of October at 9pm!!

BOOK of the MONTH

９月のおすすめ本は「グリーンネイバーフッド」です。

この本には米国オレゴン州のポートランドの有名な町「パールディストリクト」を紹介しています！昔のパールディストリクトは廃屋の多い地区でしたが、今はその廃屋をリフォームしたオシャレなアートギャラリーやブティックがあります。そして！世界で一番大きな本屋さんもあるんです！自然豊かで公園がたくさんあり、とてもエコな町で自転車を使う人が多いです。この本には、カラー写真がたくさん載っていているので、この町の雰囲気がとても伝わってきます！

September’s book is GREEN Neighborhood: Portland.  Inside the book are descriptions and colored photos of The Pearl District, a popular neighborhood, in Portland, Oregon.  The Pearl District, which was once a collection of abandoned warehouses, was converted into a thriving urban center with art galleries, parks, convenient public transportation, and local businesses, including the worlds largest new and used book store, Powell’s City of Books.

BOOK of the MONTH

８月のおすすめの本はdancyu「パスタの本」です。この本にはいろいろなパスタのレシピがあります。例えば、クラシックイタリアスタイルからジャパニーズスタイルもあります！

８月BOMパスタ

August’s book is actually a mook (the Japanese portmanteau of “magazine” and “book”) released by the food magazine, dancyu.   The title,「パスタの本」literally translates to ‘A book of Pasta’, and as you can probably guess, contains various pasta recipes!

BOOK of the MONTH

6月のおすすめの本は「ダース・ヴェイダーと仲間たち」です。この本はダース・ヴェイダーがパパのシリーズ第4で〜す！

2013年6月には第1「ダース・ヴェイダーとルーク(4才)」 。2014年6月には第2「ダース・ヴェイダーとプリンセス・レイア」。2015年6月には第3「おやすみなさいダース・ヴェイダー」をご紹介しました。

今回のテーマは、友情です。もちろんシリーズのイラストはいつもチャーミングでかわいい♡

June’s book is Darth Vader and Friends by Jeffrey Brown, the 4th in the Darth Vader™ series.

I featured the 1st book, Darth Vader and Son in June 2013, the 2nd book, Vader’s Little Princess in June 2014, and the 3rd book, Good Night Darth Vader in June 2015, in honor of Father’s Day.  

This time, the series focuses on friendship, and of course, the artwork is as charming as usual.♥
